Pharmacists continue face-to-face engagement with policymakers

NCPA October 22, 2024

visitLast week, Rep. Tim Burlison (R-Mo.) paid a visit to Mitchell’s Drug Stores in Neosho. Burlison, a member of the House Oversight and Accountability Committee, spent about half an hour speaking with pharmacy owner Tim Mitchell and others in attendance. Other attendees included state representative Ben Baker, patient and business owner Rudy Farber, past NCPA president Bill Osborn, and other local pharmacy owners. The congressman was very interested in many of Mitchell’s Drug Stores’ most innovative offerings.

This visit was another opportunity to provide policymakers a first-hand view of the important role community pharmacies play in our health care system and allowed for discussion of the urgent need for Congress to pass robust PBM reforms so patients maintain access to their pharmacy of choice.

If you have not yet invited your legislators to visit your pharmacy, take advantage of NCPA’s Months of Action resources. Complete this interest form or email Michael Rule at [email protected] to get started!
