Keep your eye out when you’re milling about the convention for a short preview of Modern Medical Mafia, a forthcoming documentary that will dive into the prescription drug pricing crisis caused by PBMs’ price manipulations and its effects on independent pharmacies. The film will be playing on displays around the convention center.
The film is directed by Mary Strause. Her father Dan Strause is CFO of NCPA member Hometown Pharmacy Wisconsin.
“Independent pharmacies are the canary in the coal mine and the last line of defense for patient-over-profit health care,” he said. “They are the most accessible health care provider and a precious national health care resource that is being targeted for extinction by Wall Street PBMs.”
