NCPA October 26, 2024

CDC Director Mandy Cohen endorsed recommendations made by the CDC Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, including that:

  • People 65 years and older and those who are moderately or severely immunocompromised should receive a second dose of the 2024-2025 COVID-19 vaccine six months after the first dose.

  • People who are moderately or severely immunocompromised should receive additional COVID-19 doses (three or more), with shared clinical decision making.

  • The age for pneumococcal vaccination should be lowered from 65 to 50 years old.
