Kansas implements provider status for pharmacists under Medicaid

The Kansas Department of Health and Environment received approval from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services allowing state Medicaid programs to recognize pharmacists as providers. Services covered include immunizations, POCT and CLIA-waived testing and the reimbursement rate of 75 percent of other midlevel practitioners. Kansas becomes only the 15th state to cover non-dispensing pharmacy services through Medicaid.
