Long-Term Care Workshops
Long-Term Care Workshops
The NCPA Long-Term Care Division team gets a variety of questions from pharmacists and technicians like you who are looking to grow into the long-term care business.
What packaging should I investigate? What regulations must I follow? How do I establish a relationship with a facility in my area? How does this differ from my community pharmacy business? Do I need another physical location? Can I use the same staff?
Historically, we offered a comprehensive course — the Business of Long-Term Care Workshop — that aimed to answer these questions and more. While this workshop has been extraordinarily successful, in recent years, participants have focused on two primary areas: long-term care pharmacy at home and advanced long-term care services. In response, we have developed and are excited to now offer two one-day LTC workshops presented by the NCPA Innovation Center: the Long-Term Care Pharmacy at Home Workshop and the Advanced LTC Pharmacy Workshop — Building, Scaling, and Sustaining Profitable LTC Services.
Advanced LTC Pharmacy Workshop — Building, Scaling, and Sustaining Profitable LTC Services
Thursday, Oct. 1
8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Advanced LTC Pharmacy Workshop is an intensive, business-focused training program designed for pharmacies that currently serve long-term care patients or are looking to expand their business into new markets or patient populations.
This workshop goes beyond foundational concepts to provide a comprehensive, real-world framework for building a financially sustainable and competitive LTC pharmacy business. It delivers practical, hands-on strategies that address the most critical challenges facing today’s LTC pharmacy landscape, including marketing, reimbursement issues, market consolidation, and ever-changing regulations and programs.
Long-Term Care
Pharmacy at Home Workshop
Friday, Oct. 2
8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Discover the future of pharmacy care in this dynamic workshop on LTC pharmacy at home. Designed for forward-thinking pharmacists, this session explores how care traditionally delivered in LTC facilities is shifting into the home, creating new opportunities to expand clinical impact and meet growing patient demand.
Participants will gain practical insights into building and scaling an LTC pharmacy at home model, from navigating regulatory requirements and staffing structures to selecting optimal medication packaging solutions. The workshop also highlights high-value clinical services, such as transitions of care, remote therapy monitoring, remote patient monitoring and chronic disease support, that improve patient outcomes while reducing health care utilization.
Whether you’re looking to launch or enhance home-based LTC services, this workshop will equip you with actionable strategies, including marketing approaches to reach target populations and referral partners, positioning your pharmacy at the forefront of this evolving care model.
