November issue of AP on the opioid crisis drops soon, and we’ve got a webinar about OUD for you

NCPA October 30, 2023

Watch your mailboxes — the November issue of America’s Pharmacist® offers a snapshot of the opioid crisis you won’t want to miss. Right now, only an estimated 36 percent of patients with opioid use disorder receive any treatment for their condition due to varying health care access issues. To talk about the gaps in care, we’re working with APhA, NABP, and NASPA to put on a webinar about the legal and regulatory developments impacting the prescribing and dispensing of buprenorphine now (since the Mainstreaming Addiction Treatment and Medication Access and Training Expansion Acts have become law). The webinar takes place on Nov. 9 at 1 p.m. ET and you can register here! During the discussion, experts from DEA, NABP, and the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy will address challenges and barriers faced by pharmacists in delivering buprenorphine services, including issues related to stigma, collaboration with other health care practitioners, and suspicious order monitoring programs. Bring your questions to ask our panelists during the open forum portion of our session.
