It's the biggest holiday of the year, and we know you've already got it marked on your calendars — it's Data Privacy Day! Jokes aside, it's more important than ever to lock down your personal and business information to make sure no bad actors can steal it and sell it or use it against you. That's been a problem in recent years, including for pharmacies — remember the Change Healthcare hack?
The day of recognition was first observed in 2007 in the European Union before the United States adopted it two years later. Nowadays it's recognized by a bevy of government and academic organizations, including the Federal Trade Commission, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Georgetown University, and other institutions across over 50 countries in North America, West Africa, the Middle East, and Europe.
