Vaccine coverage for Medicare

NCPA July 21, 2023

Last year’s Inflation Reduction Act requires vaccines to be covered with $0 cost share for patients enrolled in Medicare. Part B will continue to cover the influenza, pneumococcal, hepatitis B, and COVID-19 vaccines. Part D covers all commercially available vaccines when they’re reasonable and necessary to prevent illness, except those covered by Part B. For more information, check out this MLN Fact Sheet. NCPA wants to make sure your pharmacy’s immunization program is a success. Visit our Immunization Resources to get started and take your pharmacy to the next level.
