March NCPA Events for Pharmacy Teams

NCPA March 4, 2022

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (March 4, 2022) – The National Community Pharmacists Association is pleased to announce this upcoming event for pharmacists and pharmacy team members taking place in March:

  • March 15: NASPA Pharmacy-Based Point-of-Care Test and Treat National Certificate Program, online. This is an opportunity for pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, student pharmacists, and pharmacy association staff to gain the skills and information necessary to develop testing programs for influenza, Group A Streptococcus, HIV, Hepatitis C, coronaviruses, and chronic diseases. You can receive 20 hours of CPE credit upon completion of this program. Learn more and register.
  • March 23: Building a Business with Long-Term Care in 60 Minutes or Less, webinar. Join the presenters of the Business of Long-Term Care Workshop in a high-level overview of LTC market opportunities. Speakers will be covering the basics to get LTC businesses off on the right foot, including how to get started, differences between community and LTC pharmacy, the regulatory landscape, operations, and the importance of marketing and relationship-building in this space. Participants will walk away from this program with a clear understanding of the fundamentals to build or grow their LTC business. Learn more and register.

Additionally, registration is now open for the next NCPA Pharmacy Ownership Workshop, sponsored by McKesson, which will be held in Atlanta, April 9-10. At this workshop, a team of experts will answer the nitty-gritty questions about the loan approval process, licensure agreements, creating a start-up checklist, writing a business plan, designing an effective store layout, and more. This is a can’t-miss program for those planning to someday open their own store, new pharmacy owners, and those thinking about taking the next step in the industry. Learn more and register.

Registration is also open for the Business of Long-Term Care Workshop, presented by the NCPA Innovation Center. Taking place April 29-30 at NCPA headquarters in Alexandria, Va., this is an intensive crash course on owning and operating a long-term care pharmacy. Conversations will include relationship-building with area facilities, regulations to be aware of, types of packaging to consider, and other logistical and staffing considerations that will help attendees grow their long-term offering from a few to a few thousand beds.
