Tomorrow: CMS on new GLP-1 program for Part D beneficiaries

NCPA June 16, 2026

The Medicare GLP-1 Bridge program goes live July 1 to bring increased access to GLP-1s for weight loss. To help independent pharmacies understand the program and prepare for implementation, NCPA is hosting a special webinar tomorrow, June 17 at 3 p.m. ET, featuring staff from Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. Whether you're looking to better understand program requirements, prepare your team for day-to-day operations, or ensure a smooth experience for patients seeking access to GLP-1s, this is a unique opportunity to hear directly from CMS experts.

This webinar will cover how the Bridge program will operate, what pharmacies can expect, and how prescriptions will be processed. Attendees are encouraged to submit questions in advance during registration. Space is limited, so register today to reserve your spot.

CMS has also released educational materials for the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge. Through this short-term demonstration, CMS will expand access to certain GLP-1 medications to eligible Medicare Part D beneficiaries who do not currently have access to these medications through the Part D benefit.

CMS has published the following materials on CMS.gov:

Included are materials intended to support pharmacies as they prepare for the program's start date and include key details about the prior authorization and pharmacy claims processes. CMS stated that additional materials related to the Medicare GLP-1 Bridge will be made available in the coming weeks.
