Think you can make a clinical services all-star team? You can try out soon for a brand-new program called ACCESS to Pharmacy Care. It’s a partnership between NCPA and CPESN®, and we’re looking for pharmacists with a strong program of tracking their patients’ biometrics and counseling them on how to get healthier.
The program is part of a 10-year pilot with the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services called CMS ACCESS. It’s the largest service-based program ever made available to pharmacies. Under the program, pharmacies will be paid for positive results from helping patients with high blood pressure, diabetes, and depression. And our partner, GamePlan Medical, will handle the medical billing to make it easier and speedier.
This is a massive opportunity to demonstrate the value of independent community pharmacies to health plans and health care policymakers. We’ve been saying that for years. You’ve been proving it for years. This is our chance to do it in the big leagues.
