Students: Don’t miss out on NCPA’s career-advancing programs!

NCPA November 20, 2024

If you’re a student of pharmacy or recent graduate, we have several hands-on learning programs and student leadership opportunities that you’re going to want to check out. Among our offerings are the NCPA Executive Residency Program, the Student Leadership Council, and the Association Management APPE program.

Here are some details on each:

  • The NCPA Executive Residency is a 13-month program that prepares doctor of pharmacy graduates for careers in association management or independent pharmacy. Residents help share information that advocates for and benefits pharmacy owners, both in written form and as a representative of NCPA with industry stakeholders. Residents work in our Alexandria, Va., headquarters and receive competitive salaries and benefits, with relocation assistance available. The program runs June 1-June 30. You can apply here. The application deadline is Dec. 15.

  • The NCPA Student Leadership Council allows pharmacy student members to contribute to NCPA’s work by helping to promote the pharmacy profession and the role of independent community pharmacists, as well as manage communications between student chapters and the national organization. You can apply by the Dec. 31 deadline here.

  • And NCPA’s Association Management APPE program provides students with an experiential rotation opportunity to work on long-term projects related to their rotation goals. The rotation is meant to fill the elective feature of a school or college of pharmacy’s curriculum-based experiential program. It’s designed to be four to six weeks in duration, though scheduling is flexible. Applications are taken year-round. The application is available here.
