NCPA recently submitted a letter to New Mexico House Health and Human Services (HHS) Committee Chair Elizabeth Thomson in advance of a hearing on HB 165, legislation to require that managed Medicaid companies reimburse community independent pharmacies based on NADAC plus a professional dispensing fee. The bill also requires updated cost of dispensing surveys with each request for proposals from the Health Care Authority Department. NCPA State Legislation and Regulation Committee Chair Ashley Seyfarth led the testimony in support of the legislation. The HHS Committee voted to advance the bill to the Appropriations Committee, where they will consider the bill’s request for $7.5 million in additional funding.
