CVS Caremark may have screwed up for the last time in Oklahoma. According to Insurance Commissioner Glen Mulready, who held a presser Monday, CVS has been found in violation of state law – again. In response, Mulready filed an administrative action against the company. The action would be to censure, suspend, place on probation, or revoke its license to operate as a pharmacy benefit manager in the state. The Department of Insurance alleges that CVS Caremark continued violating a law prohibiting them from steering patients to their own mail order or retail pharmacy. The next step is a hearing before an administrative law judge, scheduled for the end of May. Stay tuned for more developments on this potential blockbuster.
