Kentucky emergency prescription assistance

NCPA August 8, 2022

The Emergency Prescription Assistance Program has been activated to help patients affected by severe storms in Kentucky. This safety net tool is jointly funded by state and federal emergency response and will cover the cost of replacing prescriptions and some medical supplies for people without insurance. Pharmacies in an Express Scripts network may already be enrolled in EPAP; for more information about covered patients and covered drugs and supplies visit the EPAP Pharmacies page. For patients who have insurance and need a replacement fill, review the NCPDP Emergency Preparedness Information (See Section 6.1 starting on page 16) on using Submission Clarification Code 13 – Payer Recognized Declared Emergency Assistance Request. Contact the pharmacy help desk for any payer-specific requirements. You can also help patients locate open pharmacies, or confirm your pharmacy status at www.RxOpen.org.
