On Tuesday, 250 pharmacy owners rallied at the State Capitol in Albany, N.Y., with a clear and resounding message: Albany: Protect Patients, taxpayers and pharmacies!
Language in N.Y. Gov. Cuomo's proposed budget will bring regulation to PBMs, specifically licensure and registration of any PBM doing business in the state. It also includes hefty penalties for PBMs who challenge it.
The rally was organized by FixRx.org, directed by the New York City Pharmacist Society in partnership with the Pharmacy Society of the State of New York. The groups support the governor's budget language and are asking for state Medicaid to be carved out of the Managed Care model.
