ALEXANDRIA, Va. (April 21, 2025) – The National Community Pharmacists Association has released two new episodes of its educational reality series, “Show Me,” this time diving deep into maternal vaccination programs. “Show Me,” which NCPA debuted in 2022, is a video series styled after popular TV makeover shows, only these stars are real pharmacists who need help getting a certain aspect of their business on track.
These latest two episodes feature 38th Street Pharmacy in Austin, Texas, where owner and pharmacist Matthew Warnken is eager to grow their maternal vaccine program. Hannah Fish, PharmD, NCPA senior director of strategic initiatives, heads to the Lone Star State to help him out. She’s joined by coaches Rannon Ching, owner and pharmacist at nearby Tarrytown Pharmacy, and a local OB-GYN, Julia Gutierrez, MD. Together, they explore innovative strategies for boosting outreach to patients and addressing hesitancy, collaborating with area providers, and integrating these offerings into the pharmacy’s business’ workflow.
Will Matthew head back to 38th Street Pharmacy with what he needs to make maternal vaccines a healthy part of his business? Find out how they progress in part one and part two. The full series – which helps other pharmacists with starting a program from scratch, marketing an existing program, growing their travel vaccine offerings, and more – is available on NCPA’s YouTube channel, NCPAvids. “Show Me” is a production of the NCPA Innovation Center with support from Pfizer. Additionally, for pharmacy teams ready to strengthen their own maternal vaccine programs, the NCPA Innovation Center collaborated with Atrium24 to develop a customizable “dear doctor” letter that will help them build partnerships with other health care providers in their community. The letter outlines Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations and highlights pharmacies’ ability to provide convenient, trusted care for pregnant patients. The customizable letter and additional maternal vaccination resources are available here.
