Upcoming NCPA Items for Pharmacy Teams

ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Aug. 29, 2022) – The National Community Pharmacists Association is pleased to announce these upcoming items for pharmacists and pharmacy team members:

  • Sept. 8 – Reaching Patients and Providers through Remote Physiologic Monitoring Services, CE webinar. As COVID-19 forced us all to embrace online experiences, new opportunities to provide remote pharmacy services and enhanced patient care followed. Avant Pharmacy and Wellness’ Amina Abubakar, PharmD, AAHIVP, and Brianna Johnson, PharmD, grew their service revenue by offering remote physiologic monitoring, a paid service available to Medicare beneficiaries. They will be sharing how other pharmacy teams can expand their clinical services, reach new patients, and bolster their bottom line through provider relationships. Learn more and register.
  • Sept. 29-Oct. 1 – Pre-Convention Growth and Profitability Programs, in Kansas City, Mo. Programming includes hot topics such as point-of-care testing, long-term care, weight management, specialty pharmacy, and more:
    • Thursday, Sept. 29
      • Business of Long-Term Care Workshop This two-day (Sept. 29-30) workshop is an intensive crash course on owning and operating a long-term care pharmacy.
      • Pharmacy Ownership Workshop Sponsored by McKesson and in part by Live Oak Bank and Pharmacists Mutual Companies, this intensive two-day (Sept. 29 and 30) event is perfect for both those considering pharmacy ownership and current owners looking to polish their management skills.

    • Saturday, Oct. 1
  • Registration is open for the NCPA 2022 Annual Convention and Expo. The convention will be held Oct. 1-4 in Kansas City, Mo. Learn more and register.
  • Beginning Oct. 12 – Diabetes Accreditation Boot Camp. The NCPA Innovation Center is teaming up with Travis Wollf, PharmD, to hold another Diabetes Accreditation Boot Camp, an online course that will prepare pharmacy teams to apply for Diabetes Self-Management Education accreditation. DSME is a billable, evidence-based service that allows pharmacy teams to improve clinical outcomes and quality of life for patients with diabetes. Learn more and register.
