ALEXANDRIA, Va. (March 23, 2022) – The National Community Pharmacists Association is pleased to announce that Table Rock Pharmacy in Morganton, N.C., has earned the 2022 NCPA Innovation Center Excellence Award for Best Delivery Vehicle. This is the fifth year of the NICE Awards competition, which was created to recognize pharmacies for their efforts to enhance their value, promote their services, and better serve their communities. The NICE Awards are sponsored by RedSail Technologies, LLC.
“Congratulations to Table Rock Pharmacy for earning the NICE Award for Best Delivery Vehicle,” says NCPA Innovation Center President Kurt Proctor. “The NICE Awards spotlight the best of community pharmacy branding and marketing – the innovations and redesigns that have made promotions more effective and patients’ experiences more rewarding. With its eye-catching new look, Table Rock’s delivery vehicle is a great mobile advertisement that’s always on the go. We’re confident the pharmacy’s patients enjoy and benefit from the personalized delivery services their local independent pharmacy is offering.”
Michael Stout, who owns Table Rock Pharmacy with wife Jessi, thought that using the pharmacy’s delivery vehicle to promote the business was a no-brainer, especially in a small town of about 16,000. They decided to wrap the delivery car (a 2012 Toyota Prius hybrid) at the beginning of 2021. The wrap job was coupled with in-store signage and Facebook ad campaigns to boost delivery service awareness.
While his wife is a pharmacist, Michael’s background is in graphic design, so he played a big role in designing the wrap. He wanted it to be eye-catching, conveying the service message the pharmacy wants to promote. He says on average the car does about 10-15 deliveries daily, covering 80 miles on some days, but usually between 50-60 miles.
“It’s good advertising,” he says. “It’s such good publicity and it gets your name out there. I hope to get it to where I need another delivery car and delivery driver. It would be nice to have a fleet out there on the roads.”
Michael and Jessi purchased the pharmacy in 2019 from Jessi’s parents, who previously owned the pharmacy for 30 years. Table Rock Pharmacy’s products and services include standard retail prescriptions; medication synchronization; adherence packaging; compounding; immunizations; durable medical equipment; travel consultations; comprehensive medication reviews; monthly educational classes; delivery; blood pressure and sugar testing; diabetes support and education; and flu and strep testing.
