The NCPA House of Delegates installed Christian Tadrus as the 2026-2027 NCPA president in the Annual Convention’s closing hours. Tadrus is the owner of Sam's Health Mart Pharmacies and principal of the consulting firm Tadrus Advisory Group, LLC. In his inaugural remarks, he said he would spend his term pushing members to engage with health care decision makers, build new things, and modernize their pharmacies.
He emphasized the importance of independent pharmacists being represented in the rooms where health care is being redesigned, to ensure they have a say in the decisions that can determine what happens at the counter. To be there, he said, it’s important to show up, contribute to the conversation, and build credibility among those decision makers.
“Influence isn’t automatic. It is earned. You show up. You listen. You do the homework. You contribute something useful. You help solve the larger problem. And, you keep showing up,” he said.
Tadrus also noted that there are places where independent pharmacies “should feel free and give ourselves permission to build something different.”
“We create models, services, and partnerships that work better for our pharmacies, that enhance the outcomes for our patients and improve our standing in our communities,” he said, citing CPESN® as a prime example. He also said independent pharmacies need to modernize by using technology to connect themselves to the larger health care ecosystem, improve workflows, and become more competitive.
In closing, Tadrus encouraged members to find the places they can contribute to those efforts, whether at NCPA, a state association, local health system, or anywhere that independent pharmacies’ interests and experiences aren’t represented.
