Essential insights on the last day of #NCPA2026

The last day of the 2026 Annual Convention offered yet more bright viewpoints on how to run an effective pharmacy business and stay ahead of the curve. Here’s a recap of one session on team management.

In “How to communicate business goals through your daily, weekly, and monthly actions,” Travis Wolff, CEO of PharmFurther, talked attendees through the best ways to guide your pharmacy team toward specific goals. That included how to structure your meetings and communicate those goals.

He pointed out that when tracking your goals, dashboards and charts are great at showing your team what is happening — but they rarely explain why it matters. You can help your team understand that through a deliberate meeting structure.

At an annual retreat, you can set goals. Monthly meetings track progress, weekly huddles address workflow and service issues, and daily check-ins keep everyone focused on the right tasks.

He also recommended replacing the annual performance review with a forward-looking "preview" plus regular one-on-one feedback, especially with data showing that 58 percent of workers say annual reviews don't motivate them or improve their work.
