NDC quarterly forums: Preparing for the 12-digit NDC transition

NCPA September 8, 2026

The National Drug Code is changing, and pharmacies will be part of a transition requiring coordinated updates across a wide variety of stakeholders across the health care system. The NDC Coordination and Implementation Forum is bringing these stakeholders together to track implementation progress, share updates from key partners, identify emerging risks and dependencies, and address cross-sector challenges before they create disruptions. We encourage pharmacy stakeholders to participate in upcoming meetings.

Stakeholders affected by the transition include a wide variety of sectors, including pharmacy systems, wholesalers, manufacturers, PBMs, payers, technology vendors, standards organizations, and government. Participation is the best way to ensure that your priorities are considered in the transition. The virtual Q3 Quarterly Forum will be on Sept. 24, 1–3 p.m. ET, and the Q4 Quarterly Forum on Dec. 8-9, from 1-3 p.m. ET each day. Learn more and register at www.NDCForum.org/ndcquarterlyforums.
