Host a pharmacy visit during NCPA’s Months of Action and advocate for additional PBM reforms

NCPA July 14, 2026

Community pharmacy achieved a historic win this year as legislation requiring CMS to define and enforce reasonable and relevant contract terms, including those related to reimbursements in Medicare Part D, was signed into law in February.

However, there is still much more to accomplish, and your continued engagement is necessary. Turn the upcoming congressional recess periods into results by hosting your legislators for a pharmacy visit! We need you to continue to press legislators and make your voice heard on the need for additional PBM reforms. Legislators are scheduled to be away from Washington for extended periods from July 24-Aug. 30, and then again from Oct. 2-Nov. 8. These are great opportunities to host members of Congress or their key staff for a visit to your pharmacy.

Face-to-face meetings are the best way to convey the urgency of finalizing additional PBM reforms this year, including those that would enhance transparency and ban spread pricing in Medicaid managed care programs and require official audits of the Tricare pharmacy program.
