How to identify and assist those undergoing mental health, substance abuse challenges

NCPA April 8, 2026

As patients' most accessible health care provider, community pharmacists are perfectly positioned to recognize and respond when encountering patients experiencing mental health and substance use disorder challenges. Mental Health First Aid training will teach you how to leverage that unique position to identify, understand, and respond to signs and symptoms of those in need of help, whether it's a patient, staff member, or someone else.

Peer-reviewed studies have demonstrated that MHFA-trained individuals know more about the signs, symptoms, and risk factors of mental health and substance use challenges, with a greater ability and likelihood to help the person. Join the over three million people who have been trained to identify, understand, and respond using MHFA skills.

Thanks to the support of the Cardinal Health Foundation, we are able to offer a $50 discount on all registration fees.
