Payments from a class action settlement over interchange fees may be coming soon

NCPA December 2, 2025

Community pharmacies that submitted claims before the Feb. 4, 2025 deadline may be able to benefit from an initial partial distribution resulting from a class action settlement over allegedly illegal interchange fees charged by Visa, Mastercard, and certain other large credit card issuers.

The court approved an initial, partial distribution on Oct. 30. The partial distributions are anticipated to occur in early 2026 for eligible claimants that submitted claims before the Feb. 4, 2025 deadline; the amount paid will depend on the number of claims filed. The settlement website will be updated with more information on the distribution timeline as details emerge. You can learn more about the settlement on its FAQ page (more information can also be found in the merchant portal for any communication from the class administrator).
