This week, 10 members of NCPA's Regional Chain Advisory Group (RCAG) gathered in Washington, D.C. to lobby their members of Congress and meet with CMS and HHS officials to advocate for PBM reform and fight to keep independent pharmacy strong. RCAG members had over 30 meetings with their representatives and senators.
They met separately with Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.), who chairs the House Oversight Committee; Rep. Greg Murphy, M.D. (R-N.C.), vice chair of the House Veterans' Affairs Subcommittee on Health; Rep. Diana Harshbarger (R-Tenn.), vice chair of the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Health; Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.); and Rep. Rick Allen (R-Ga.), chair of the House Education and Workforce Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions.
RCAG members were also joined by staff from CMS and HHS to discuss drug pricing issues and the value of independent pharmacies serving as health care centers in their communities. NCPA appreciates our members for taking the time to leave their pharmacies and advocate for our profession!
