Rep. Carter stepping down as E&C Health Subcommittee chairman

NCPA July 3, 2025

Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) announced that he will be stepping down as chairman of the Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee. No date for the resignation was set, but he indicated he would work with Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.), chairman of the full E&C Committee, to determine a time that would be least disruptive to the committee’s work. Carter previously announced his candidacy for U.S. Senate in the 2026 election cycle. NCPA appreciates all of Carter’s work on PBM reform and will continue working with his successor on these critically important legislative measures.
