NCPDP 6-digit BIN will become 8-digit IIN by 2028

Earlier this year, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services published a rule that will result in a significant update to the NCPDP Telecommunication Standard that pharmacies use to send electronic claims. Included in this update is an expanded NCPDP Processor ID (i.e. BIN) field to accommodate the 8-digit IIN.
