The Texas House of Representatives advanced H.B. 3540 after approval from the House Public Health Committee. H.B. 3540 is a compromise bill that had originally permitted pharmacists to administer most FDA-approved vaccinations to patients 3 years and older. The bill has been amended to only allow for COVID and flu vaccinations to be given to patients 3 years and older, and all other vaccines be given to patients 5 years and older.

NCPA sent a letter of support along with the in-person testimony given by members of Texas Pharmacy Association.
