House Republicans investigate CVS Caremark for antitrust violations

News publication The Hill reported last week that House Judiciary Committee Chair Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) sent a letter to CVS Caremark requesting they share documents and communications related to pharmaceutical hubs, the digital services that streamline access and management of specialty medications, to determine whether the PBM violated federal antitrust laws.

Jordan shared his concern that the PBM threatens independents over the use of the hubs for anticompetitive reasons.

“If CVS Caremark is eliminating opportunities for patients to access such services through an independent pharmacist, this practice raises significant concerns for patient welfare and innovation across the nation,” he wrote.
