On Feb. 4, the full Senate voted to confirm former Rep. Doug Collins’ nomination as secretary of Veterans Affairs with a strongly bipartisan vote. The tally was 77–23 with 24 Democrats joining Republicans. During his time in the House, Collins was a vocal and active champion of community pharmacy. While the VA does not have direct authority over pharmacy issues, in his position with the administration Collins could exert key influence over the Department of Defense and Tricare.
