In an interview with Meet the Press on Sunday, President-elect Donald Trump said he would be reducing prices on medications and referenced the role of PBMs in the pricing of medicine.
"We're going to do a lot of things. Number one, we're going to reduce prices, because the middleman makes more money than the drug companies," the president-elect said. "There's a middleman that nobody even knows who they are."

In his first term, the president-elect frequently commented on the ill effects of PBMs on drug prices and called on the Department of Health and Human Services to revive a rule removing the anti-kickback safe harbor for Medicare Part D rebates.
