NCPA members make case for PBM reform in meetings with legislators

NCPA October 24, 2024

Month of ActionNCPA members continue to meet with legislators face-to-face to press the urgent need for PBM reform. This week, Jim and Anne Clanton, owners of Jim’s Pharmacy at the Lake in Dadeville, Ala., met with Rep. Mike Rogers (R-Ala.) in Oxford, Ala. They attended an event on NCPA’s behalf and shared their concerns about PBMs and the need for urgent reform in the marketplace not only for their business, but also for their patients.

This followed visits last week in Rhode Island by Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse (D-R.I.), a member of the Senate Finance Committee, and Rep. Gabe Amo (D-R.I.). Both legislators visited White Cross Pharmacy in North Providence, R.I., where they got a firsthand view of the important role community pharmacies play in the health care system and the need for PBM reform.

The Months of Action campaign is winding down, but there is still time to invite your legislators for a visit. Take advantage of NCPA’s Months of Action resources.
