During the past year, NCPA worked closely with the CDC’s Division of Diabetes Translation to help build the DSMES and National DPP Pharmacy Billing Playbooks. The CDC recently completed both the Diabetes Self-Management Education and Support Medical Billing Playbook for Pharmacies here and the National Diabetes Prevention Program Medical Billing Playbook for Pharmacies, available as part of this toolkit. Billing and reimbursement are vital to sustain pharmacy services related to chronic disease management and diabetes education programs, and we were pleased to partner with the CDC in the development of these resources.
It is our mutual hope that these playbooks act as guides for pharmacies interested in billing for diabetes prevention and management programs, especially for Medicare reimbursement. Interested?
