Two big keynoters, two big general sessions

NCPA October 11, 2023

You’re going to want to attend the General Sessions slated for Sunday, Oct. 15 and Monday, Oct. 16. Why? Two big reasons! For one, we’ve got Peter Lovatt, PhD, a cognitive psychologist who co-founded the Movement in Practice Academy, headquartered in Norfolk, England, which provides education in the psychology of movement and dance. He’ll share his insights on the unique connection between moving your body and moving your business up to the next level. For over 25 years, Lovatt was a university lecturer at several higher education institutions in the United Kingdom, from Cambridge University to the Royal Ballet School. He also set up the first Dance Psychology Lab in 2008, where he studied how movement changes how people think, feel and solve problems and how it changes social interaction and increases pro-social behavior. Join Lovatt and NCPA in Orlando (and don't forget your dancing shoes). We’ve also got Marty Makary, MD, MPH, a New York Times bestselling author and a gastrointestinal surgeon at Johns Hopkins, who challenges the medical establishment to remember medicine's noble heritage of caring for people when they are vulnerable. Although the system is broken, he says, the silver lining is that there are some innovative solutions that we can pursue today. He’s bringing that message to Orlando to explain the ways he says we can — and should — fix health care and keep patients first. Makary is a frequent medical expert on NBC and FOX News and writes for The Wall Street Journal and USA Today.
