NCPA June 15, 2023

Steve Postal, NCPA’s director of policy and regulatory affairs, spoke at a panel discussion on beneficiary access to care organized by the patient advocacy group Patients Rising. He was joined on his panel by a beneficiary, two representatives of Concierge Nurse Navigators, and a direct primary care physician. Steve spoke about the value of pharmacy in the community, specifically highlighting pharmacy scope of practice (including in testing and treating, HIV PrEP and PEP, hormonal contraception, and tobacco cessation) and the value of CPESN®. Bruce Heinbaugh, a co-panelist and the president of Concierge Nurse Navigators, echoed Steve’s comments about CPESN, stating that he frequently uses that network to find community pharmacists.
