Please contact your federal legislators and urge them to sign on to a letter led by Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) and Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.) that demands answers from the Department of Defense on the recent Tricare pharmacy contracts. Express Scripts slashed pharmacy reimbursements for 2023 making it impossible for many independent community pharmacies to participate in the Tricare pharmacy network. Moreover, ESI has notified Tricare beneficiaries that their pharmacy will no longer be in network as of Oct. 24, 2022, instead of the end of December. ESI’s actions are taking away pharmacy choice and creating disruptions for Tricare beneficiaries and their caregivers and making it more difficult for many to access their necessary prescriptions. Tell your legislators to add their voice to those demanding accountability in the Tricare pharmacy program by joining this letter. And do it NOW – the deadline for members to sign on is Wednesday, Sept. 28. You can also use this resource created by NCPA to direct your patients and their caregivers experiencing a disruption to take action, and you can print this letter in your pharmacy and give to your affected patients which they can mail directly to Tricare. Please speak up on this important issue.
