Since we weren’t able to hold our Congressional Fly-In in April, we asked members to practice their independent pharmacy advocacy on the home front in August, inviting senators, representatives and other officials in for pharmacy visits. And thanks to our members, our August Month of Advocacy was a rousing success. In the October issue of America’s Pharmacist® we will run photos of many of the visits.
By the numbers:

Members have completed or have in the works a total of 60 visits as of Sept. 8.

More than a third (22) of those visits to member pharmacies have been with members of key committees or the CMS administrator.

Allowing for a few pharmacies that hosted multiple visits, at least 21 pharmacies, or 38 percent of pharmacies hosting visits, hosted a legislator for the first time.
