You’re going to love our convention keynoters

NCPA August 15, 2022

We’ve already given you so many reasons to attend NCPA 2022 Annual Convention in Kansas City, but here are two more to up the ante. We have two dynamic speakers this year, and if you miss them, you’ll regret it. Here’s a little about our 2022 keynote speakers:

  • Mike Abrashoff, former commander of the USS Benfold and author of three books, will speak during the First General Session on Sunday, Oct. 2. Abrashoff was the most-junior officer in the Pacific Fleet when he took command of one of the Navy’s worst performing ships. Twelve months later, the USS Benfold was the best ship in the entire Navy – using the same crew. The story of that stunning transformation has lessons for every organization: leadership matters, and culture is everything. Mike offers clear, battle-tested and actionable steps, and shows people at every level of an organization how to engage and take incremental steps that can make a dramatic difference. He says, “I didn’t turn the ship around – my crew did that. What I did was to create an environment where they felt safe, empowered, and supported. When you do that, anything is possible.” He’ll give you plenty of ideas you can take home and use in your pharmacy.

  • Ophthalmologist and comedian Will Flanary is scheduled to speak during the Second General Session on Monday, Oct. 3. Will, known on social media (to his more than 2.5 million followers!) as “Dr. Glaucomflecken,” blends observational medical humor with biting satire. If you haven’t seen his hysterical bit on PBMs, watch it now and you’ll be hooked.
