When Bass Pro Shops advertised its Redhead Lifetime Guarantee All-Purpose Socks as the “last sock you’ll ever buy,” Kent Slaughter took them at their word. He bought a pair years ago and when they wore out, he’d exchange them for a new pair. But in 2021, Bass changed its policy to a 60-day guarantee on the socks. Now Kent is suing the company over the change in policy, saying that the lifetime guarantee was the reason he bought the socks in the first place. A check of the Bass website shows that the socks currently retail for $9.99. Bass says they won’t comment on pending litigation.
