ALEXANDRIA, Va. (Oct. 13, 2020) — The National Community Pharmacists Association’s Annual Convention is set to take place Oct. 18-19, 2020. The virtual format of this year’s convention makes it easier than ever for independent community pharmacists and their teams to attend, wherever they are. It is also drawing big-name speakers including the Assistant Secretary for Health at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Admiral Brett Giroir, who is the administration’s leading coronavirus testing official; the Surgeon General of the United States, Vice Admiral Jerome M. Adams, MD, MPH; Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge, who led the fight to the U.S. Supreme Court’s Oct. 6 hearing of the landmark Rutledge v. PCMA case dealing with pharmacy benefit manager state oversight; and Miss America 2020 Camille Schrier, a Doctor of Pharmacy student and prescription safety advocate.
“This will be the most convenient and affordable NCPA Annual Convention we’ve ever had, showcasing the quality education sessions, one-stop exhibition, and top-notch programs and speakers our meetings are known to feature,” said NCPA President Brian Caswell, owner of Wolkar Drug in Baxter Springs, Kan. “The premier event for independent pharmacy is right around the corner, and with it being virtual this year, there’s no reason to miss it.”
The lineup of featured speakers includes Giroir, Adams, Rutledge and Schrier, along with NCPA CEO B. Douglas Hoey, pharmacist, MBA and Dave Chase, founder of Health Rosetta.
