State Advocacy Grant Program

Investing in State Advocacy.
Strengthening Community Pharmacy.

What: The NCPA State Advocacy Grant Program provides strategic funding to state-based pharmacy advocacy organizations to advance legislative and regulatory initiatives that align with NCPA’s advocacy priorities.

Why: The program is intended to support state-level advocacy efforts that have a clear pathway toward meaningful policy outcomes and contribute to broader efforts to strengthen community pharmacy.

NCPA is particularly interested in applications supporting the following priority areas:

- Commercial payment reform
- PBM-pharmacy ownership laws
- Audit reform legislation
- State cost-of-dispense surveys
- State-based funding programs for eligible pharmacies

Who: State-based pharmacy advocacy organizations that demonstrate alignment with NCPA’s advocacy priorities are eligible to apply.

Examples may include:

- State pharmacy associations
- Independent pharmacy associations
- Other incorporated pharmacy advocacy organizations

Only one active NCPA State Advocacy Grant Program award may exist within a state at any given time. Organizations within the same state are encouraged to collaborate and submit a joint application whenever appropriate.

More Than Funding: A Strategic Partnership

The NCPA State Advocacy Grant Program is designed to provide more than financial support. Grant recipients gain access to a collaborative partnership focused on helping state pharmacy associations achieve meaningful advocacy outcomes. Throughout the grant period, participating organizations will engage in regular check-ins, strategic discussions, and ongoing communication with NCPA staff and subject matter experts. This approach helps ensure grant recipients have access to the tools, resources, best practices, and peer insights needed to navigate challenges, strengthen advocacy efforts, and maximize the impact of their initiatives. Our goal is not simply to fund projects, but to support state associations every step of the way as they work to advance community pharmacy in their states.
