NCPA LDF | PBM Reform

NCPA remains one of the leading voices for PBM reform in Congress and state legislatures across the country.

Earlier this year, we played a pivotal role in getting key federal PBM reforms passed as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, which includes provisions requiring the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services to define what constitutes reasonable and relevant Medicare Part D contract terms.

We’ve also made huge progress at the state level, assisting the passage of bills that will ban PBMs from owning or operating pharmacies in Tennessee, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.

As a result of these victories, the big PBM groups are lining up tens of millions of dollars to challenge the outcomes... But we’re just getting started.

Next on our agenda is securing fair and transparent reimbursements in Medicaid and Medicare, steering patients away from PBM-owned pharmacies, and challenging the vertical integration of PBMs that lets them get away with their shady schemes.

Join the fight in helping us rein in PBMs for good today.
