NCPA keeps a vigilant presence in the courtroom to protect independent, community pharmacies and their patients from being taken advantage of by the big PBMs who try to rig the game in their favor. 

Throughout the year, we file a handful of amicus briefs in state and federal courts to ensure that all the relevant information regarding how independent pharmacy owners will be impacted by potential rulings is considered. Coupled with letters to regulators, attorneys general, and governors, we expend a significant amount of resources to uphold and enforce the law. 

Right now, we’re preparing for several high-stakes battles that could fundamentally reshape the PBM landscape, including litigation against GoodRx and Change Healthcare. In addition, we are preparing for a big legal fight that will challenge the fundamental aspects of vertical consolidation within in the insurer/PBM/pharmacy industry.
