Host Your Legislators for a Pharmacy Visit
and Turn Recess into Results

Community pharmacy achieved a significant legislative win this year as legislation requiring CMS to define and enforce reasonable and relevant contract terms, including those related to reimbursements, in Medicare Part D, was signed into law in February.

However, there is still much more to accomplish, and your continued engagement is necessary! Turn the upcoming Congressional recess periods into results by hosting your legislators for a pharmacy visit!

Thank them for the measures that passed earlier this year but remind them there is more to do. Particularly, provisions that would enhance transparency and ban spread pricing in Medicaid managed care programs

Hosting legislators or their key staff for a visit to your pharmacy and meeting with them face to face is the best way to convey the urgency of pushing additional PBM reforms across the finish line.

Let them see firsthand the important role you play in your community and the egregious PBM abuses you face. We need all community and LTC pharmacists to participate and keep the pressure on our elected officials to finish the fight by passing strong legislation. This year, members of Congress are scheduled to be away from Washington July 28-September 1 providing tremendous opportunities to host them in your pharmacy. After all the progress Congress has made, it is imperative they push these commonsense reforms across the finish line and don't let the PBMs off the hook.

Please let us know of your interest in participating by completing this interest form or by emailing Michael Rule at mrule@ncpa.org. He will follow up with you to help you invite your legislators for a visit to your pharmacy.
