Our Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In is almost here!

NCPA April 21, 2025

Next week, from April 30-May 1, NCPA will host hundreds of community pharmacy advocates for our 2025 Congressional Pharmacy Fly-In in Alexandria, Va. Over those two days, attendees will receive briefings from NCPA staff and others and hear remarks from Rep. Buddy Carter (R-Ga.), one of three pharmacists or pharmacy owners in Congress, who was previously a pharmacist and independent pharmacy owner. He's also the chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Health Subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over most of community pharmacy's legislative priorities. And, of course, attendees will meet with members of Congress and their staff to advocate for NCPA priorities.

Some more on those briefings:

  • NCPA Advocacy Center staff will share updates on their work advocating for independent pharmacies, including efforts to stop the unfair practices of pharmacy benefit managers and protect and expand patient access to community pharmacy services. They'll also discuss the congressional agenda for 2025 and how NCPA will continue to work on industry priorities to preserve the ability of independent pharmacies to serve their communities.

  • Health policy experts serving both parties on the Senate Finance Committee will discuss where PBM reform currently stands in Congress and the next legislative steps for finalizing reforms in 2025.

  • Representatives from Capitol Counsel, NCPA's outside consulting firm, will provide an overview of what to expect legislatively for the remainder of 2025 and into 2026 and what legislation has the best chances of moving.

Then, of course, there's the Congressional Reception, the Hill visits, and the free time you'll have with your colleagues in beautiful downtown Alexandria, Va. We'll get into all of that in another qAM issue soon.

Sound tempting? For those of you who haven't signed up, we're nearing capacity but there's still time to join us if you register now.
