If NCPA’s state government affairs end-of-year engagement is any indicator, 2025 promises to be another busy year in state legislatures and regulatory bodies for key issues such as PBM reform and Medicaid reform. Since Labor Day, NCPA has partnered with pharmacy organizations in at least 38 states. Activities have been wide-ranging: NCPA fielded requests from members, state associations, and lawmakers to review draft legislation and regulation, help strategize and provide multistate information and perspective.
Among our activities, we engaged state insurance department personnel at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ winter meeting and convened another session of the NCPA Pharmacist-Legislator Policy Forum, also attending legislative summits. And, while not as busy as the first half of the year when more legislatures are in session, we continued to submit comments in support or opposition to legislation and regulation.
Small but mighty, NCPA is proud of its reach into the states to address its members’ challenges with PBM and Medicaid reform. We are ready to hit the ground running in 2025.
