A new membership committee was formed and met for the first time during the NCPA Committee Forum in November. The new committee will identify ways to increase NCPA membership numbers and member engagement as well as review programs and services to better serve current members and drive membership growth. At their inaugural meeting they discussed inclusiveness and increasing engagement of all pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy owners with NCPA.
The membership committee will focus on highlighting the opportunities and overcoming obstacles to membership by developing recruitment strategies and engaging with current members to keep them involved with NCPA's work.
Committee members include chair and former NCPA President Hugh Chancy, Tim Mitchell, Jade Ranger, Raj Shah, Thomas Sherrer, board liaison and former NCPA President Lea Wolsoncroft, and Lilia Xu. NCPA staff members Stacey Loflin and Mark Ey also participated in the membership committee.
The committee discussed both real and perceived barriers to membership, group participation, current NCPA programs and potential programs needed by members as well as the membership onboarding and renewal processes. The committee will meet monthly over the next year to discuss ways to enhance the organization through better membership engagement and enrollment.
If you have any ideas for ways the membership committee can help NCPA boost member engagement, please email Mark Ey at [email protected].
