Pushing for PBM reform as the congressional session ends

NCPA November 26, 2024

As the last few weeks of this Congress approach, NCPA is still hard at work with members of Congress to make sure PBM reform policies are included in any potential end-of-year legislative package. If every pharmacist gets 10 patients to send letters to their representatives in Congress, we’ll have their offices flooded with messages supporting PBM reform! Since we started our Finish the Fight initiative in June, patients have sent over 57,000 letters to members of Congress. Since the launch of our “10 to Win” push, over the last week patients have sent over 6,300 letters to members representing 48 states. Help us get some more!

It’s a simple process:

1. Visit www.ncpa.org/finishthefight

2. Scroll to campaign resources

3. Select a poster to print and display in your pharmacy

4. Ask your patients to scan the QR code and enter their name and address

5. Have them click the submit letters link to complete their action

Contact your representative and urge them to sign onto a bipartisan letter circulating in the House of Representatives that will ask congressional leadership in both the House of Representatives and the Senate to make sure PBM reform is included at the end of the year that includes these priorities. Nearly 60 legislators have already signed on, but we need many more to do so!

If you have any questions about engaging with your patients or contacting your legislators, you can email Michael Rule at [email protected].
