The Federal Trade Commission’s interim report released Tuesday morning didn’t exactly use the word “leeches” to describe PBM-insurers, but as it’s said, if the shoe fits! And with that in mind, we thought we’d re-share our “PBM Leeches” ad that kicked off our “Finish the Fight” effort. While launching the campaign, which is aiming to push Congress to finalize PBM reform as soon as possible this year, we also released the results of a poll revealing widespread public concern over prescription drug costs and PBMs. Among our findings? Nearly 75 percent are concerned about PBMs’ impact on drug pricing, and 60 percent said they’d be more likely to vote for someone who supports legislation aimed at addressing PBM abuses.
With elections right around the corner, this is valuable information to have when talking with policymakers—or would-be policymakers—about their legislative priorities. Here are resources you can use to get your patients involved in “Finish the Fight,” and here’s how you can host policymakers at your pharmacy for our August/October Months of Action initiative.
And here, just for fun, is the “PBM Career Day” TV ad we released on Monday. Have you spotted it yet on CNN??
